WHO AM I?

Hi, my name is Ashton Lovell. I'm a former high school teacher turned freelance games media writer. I currently work a standard 9 to 5 office job and am looking to take on any freelance writing opportunities available in my spare time. I tend to focus on action RPGs and narrative-focused action-adventure titles with a splash of everything else mixed in. I play games both new or old and rarely shy away from a title unless it is in the puzzle or horror genre. Some of my favorite games include: Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy VII, The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, The Last of Us, and Earthbound.

I have a Bachelor's in History from the University of South Carolina and have experience growing a YouTube channel from zero to about 1000 subscribers around a small niche (Yu-Gi-Oh!). I am endlessly gaining more knowledge, experience, and skill in the craft of games writing and content creation in order to become the best games journalist/content creator I can be.

As a young and energetic new face to video games media I am using this platform as a place to learn, grow, and collect my work over time for potential employers to explore and evaluate. I intend to divest my time between writing for this website and any freelance opportunities until one day my dream of working full-time as a games journalist/content creator becomes a reality. The ultimate goal is to become an incredible games media show host that keeps audiences engaged and facilitates interesting and entertaining conversations about games.
